Microsoft MVP – Windows Platform Development

July 3, 2014 1 comment

Just wanted to let you know that I received a Microsoft MVP award. I am very excited and honored to receive such a prestigious award and want to thank all my readers for their support. I also want to thank all of the local supporters who have come out to hear me speak here in the Charlotte area.

My award area is Windows Platform Development and that is perfect as I have enjoyed spending a lot of time working on Windows Store applications and client-side MVC solutions.

This is a great honor and I will try my best to continue to earn it moving forward.

Introducing Unity

Update:  I had a great time speaking at the WNC .NET Developers Guild last week.  You can grab the slides and code below!

I had a great time speaking at the Enterprise Developers Guild last night.  We had a great turnout and I wanted to make my slides and code available to all who are interested.  You can grab the slides from here and you can either check out or download the Unity project here.

NOTE:  When you first open the project in Unity and you don’t see anything, be sure to click on the Scenes folder and double-click level1.  This will load that scene and then you should be able to play with the game as it is.

Thank you to everyone who came out…

BrightScript extension for Visual Studio 2012

I am happy to announce that I have finally updated my extension for BrightScript.  It previously only supported Visual Studio 2010 but I have finally had enough time to make the modifications and get it working for Visual Studio 2012.

BrightScript Extension

You can get it here or through Visual Studio using Tools | Extensions and Updates.  Then all you need to do is simply do a search online for “BrightScript”.

For those of you who develop for the Roku or BrightSign devices, here is what your code will look like now in Visual Studio:

Hope this helps…
